Florence Chai’s exuberant paintings are visual diaries of her life experiences and ideal worlds. Abounding with colour and imagery, the fantastical worlds in her works are filled with flowers, birds, plants, patterns and unusual creatures.

They reflect love, longing, sadness, vulnerability and healing of the self; they are a smorgasbord of emotions.

Embracing ‘imperfections’ and non-conformity, Florence improvises freely with her paintings and is guided by the moment.

For her, harmony is also to be found in chaos. Her richly detailed paintings offer to bring the viewer on a great exploration – akin to a child embarking on an adventure, visually and spiritually.
